Differentiation by objective

Three levels. One objective. No shortcuts.

Making a task harder by bumping up the numbers isn’t mastery. In our White Rose supporting units and our spotlight sheets, if the Year 1 objective is to count within 10, the greater depth sheet still counts within 10. What changes is the depth of thinking the task asks for. The whole class works towards the same objective, and children who are ready get stretched inside it, that’s what a mastery approach looks like in practice. Every worksheet comes in three levels, so one download covers your whole class, and every child gets fluency and reasoning, whatever level they’re working at.
