Description

Make place value practice fun with this engaging Bonfire Night themed Year 2 maths activity! Count the Fireworks is designed for children who are developing their understanding of the place value of each digit in a two-digit number.

Children use a simple key to work out the total number of fireworks represented in each box. They need to recognise the value of the tens and ones digits and use this information to calculate the total number of fireworks.

The activity provides an enjoyable way for children to practise identifying tens and ones in two-digit numbers, while applying their understanding of place value to a fun Bonfire Night context.

The final row of boxes provides an additional challenge. Children are given a two-digit number and need to draw the correct number of fireworks to represent it, encouraging them to apply their understanding of place value independently.

An answer sheet is included, making this resource quick and easy to check and mark.
