This Year 4 Order Numbers Beyond 1,000 lesson is a carefully structured Spring term maths resource designed to deepen pupils’ understanding of ordering and comparing four-digit numbers. Following a Working Without Worksheets approach, the lesson promotes reasoning, discussion and practical exploration to secure strong place value foundations.

Aligned with the National Curriculum objective “Order and compare numbers beyond 1,000”, this lesson builds on prior learning in place value and comparing numbers.
