Description
Make times tables practice meaningful with this Remembrance Day themed Year 3 maths codebreaker. This engaging activity combines multiplication practice with a simple remembrance message, giving children an enjoyable way to develop their fluency with the 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times tables.
To complete the codebreaker, children solve a series of multiplication questions and use their answers to crack the code and reveal a Remembrance Day themed phrase. It is a fun, low-preparation activity that can be used as part of a Remembrance Day maths lesson, times tables practice, morning work, early finisher activity or independent maths work.
The resource is designed for Year 3 children who are developing confidence with the times tables expected at this stage. Children who have not yet learned the 4 and 8 times tables can still access the activity by using their knowledge of counting in 2s to support their calculations.
This Remembrance Day maths activity provides an opportunity for children to practise multiplication facts while also introducing a respectful and age-appropriate remembrance theme. It can be used alongside other Remembrance Day activities for Year 3 or as part of a wider lesson exploring remembrance and the importance of remembering those who have served.
