Spotlight Yr2 Count objects to 100 Base 10
Help pupils build confidence with tens and ones by focusing on representing two-digit numbers. These differentiated sheets provide practice with counting tens and ones, recognising numbers regardless of the order of the representation, and regrouping when there are more than 9 ones. Ideal for targeted intervention, same-day catch-up and pupils who benefit from focused practice.
Description
Spotlight Sheets: focused practice, one question type at a time
Within a single small step, pupils often meet a range of question types. For many children this provides valuable challenge. For others, moving between question types can make it harder to secure the underlying concept.
Spotlight Sheets address this by isolating one question type at a time. Pupils can practise it with focus, develop fluency and build confidence before moving on to mixed questions. They are well suited to targeted intervention, same-day catch-up, or any pupil who benefits from a more focused approach.
Differentiated in three ways
- Sheet 1: Supported: The tens are lined up with the ones beside them, and a tens number track is provided.
- Sheet 2: Core: The ones are placed before the tens, so pupils must count the tens first, whatever the order.
- Sheet 3: Extended: The tens are tilted and there are more than 9 ones, so pupils must make another ten before finding the number.
