Differentiated in three ways:
- Sheet 1: Supported: Tens and ones are grouped neatly, with a tens number track.
- Sheet 2: Core: Less organised base 10 and a number with no ones.
- Sheet 3: Extended: More than 9 ones, so pupils regroup to find the whole.

Spotlight Sheets: focused practice, one question type at a time
Within a single small step, pupils often meet a range of question types. For many children this provides valuable challenge. For others, moving between question types can make it harder to secure the underlying concept.
Spotlight Sheets address this by isolating one question type at a time. Pupils can practise it with focus, develop fluency and build confidence before moving on to mixed questions. They are well suited to targeted intervention, same-day catch-up, or any pupil who benefits from a more focused approach.
Differentiated in three ways
- Sheet 1: Supported: The tens and ones are grouped and labelled, and a tens number track is provided.
- Sheet 2: Core: The base 10 is less organised, and one number has no ones.
- Sheet 3: Extended: There are more than 9 ones, so pupils regroup before completing the part-whole model.
