Description

Spotlight Sheets: focused practice, one question type at a time

Within a single small step, pupils often meet a range of question types. For many children this provides valuable challenge. For others, moving between question types can make it harder to secure the underlying concept.

Spotlight Sheets address this by isolating one question type at a time. Pupils can practise it with focus, develop fluency and build confidence before moving on to mixed questions. They are well suited to targeted intervention, same-day catch-up, or any pupil who benefits from a more focused approach.

Differentiated in three ways

  • Sheet 1: Supported: Each pack of 10 is labelled as pupils count in tens, and a tens number track is provided.
  • Sheet 2: Core: There are no labels, the numbers are larger and the ones are scattered.
  • Sheet 3: Extended: Packs and ones are shown with × signs, such as × 9. Pupils work out the tens and ones, then the total.
