This is a poster for the Year 2 Spelling rule: The letter j is never used for the / dʒ / sound at the end of English words. If it is not a short vowel, after all other sounds, whether vowels or consonants, the / dʒ / sound is spelt as – ge at the end of a word. Print both pages and laminate them back-to-back. On the first side, the child can look and say the pictures. They can then turn it over to look at the side with the words and practise spelling them with the reminder of the rule. This resource is primarily for Year 2 children but can be used with other year groups if needed.
This pack is print and go. Our catalogue does not list an editable copy of it, so none is offered here rather than promising a file nobody has opened. Page counts are not printed either, because we do not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.
