Spotlight Y1 Count in 10s: Groups of 10

Spotlight Sheets: focused practice, one question type at a time Within a single small step, pupils often meet a range of question types. For many children this provides valuable challenge. For others, moving between question types can make it harder to secure the underlying concept. Spotlight Sheets address this by isolating one question type at a time. Pupils can practise it with focus, develop fluency and build confidence before moving on to mixed questions. They are well suited to targeted intervention, same-day catch-up, or any pupil who benefits from a more focused approach. Differentiated in three ways Sheet 1: Supported: Pupils count full ten frames of counters in 10s, with a number track in 10s to help. Sheet 2: Core: Pupils count 5 and 7 ten frames and say how many groups of 10. Sheet 3: Extended: Pupils count counters worth 10 and work out groups added or taken away.
