Help Year 6 pupils see which digit matters when rounding with this focused Spotlight pack. Every question practises one skill: reading a place value chart and rounding the number. Differentiated in three ways: • Sheet 1: Supported: The number is given beside the place value chart. • Sheet 2: Core: Pupils read six-digit numbers from the chart first. • Sheet 3: Extended: Some columns have 10 or more

Spotlight Sheets: focused practice, one question type at a time Within a single small step, pupils often meet a range of question types. For many children this provides valuable challenge. For others, moving between question types can make it harder to secure the underlying concept. Spotlight Sheets address this by isolating one question type at a time. Pupils can practise it with focus, develop fluency and build confidence before moving on to mixed questions. They are well suited to targeted intervention, same-day catch-up, or any pupil who benefits from a more focused approach. Differentiated in three ways Sheet 1: Supported: The number is given beside the place value chart. Sheet 2: Core: Pupils read six-digit numbers from the chart first. Sheet 3: Extended: Some columns have 10 or more counters, and pupils round to the nearest 100 and 10,000.
This pack is print and go. Our catalogue does not list an editable copy of it, so none is offered here rather than promising a file nobody has opened. Page counts are not printed either, because we do not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.
Our own system, with the star count repeated in every worksheet header so a child can be handed the right sheet without a word.
