Help children develop their early measurement and comparison skills with this engaging Comparing Height Activity. Designed for EYFS and early years maths, this resource gives children opportunities to compare objects by their height and use mathematical vocabulary such as taller and shorter. The resource can be laminated and cut into sections, allowing children to work with two or three matching cards at a time. Children can compare the height of the objects and answer questions such as “Which is taller?” and “Which is shorter?” They can also challenge themselves by ordering all three objects from shortest to tallest or tallest to shortest. Alternatively, children can be given a complete set of images to cut out and arrange in order of height, before sticking them down. This provides an additional hands-on opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of comparing and ordering height. This versatile resource is ideal for EYFS maths, early years measurement, focus groups, small group activities, independent learning and assessment opportunities. It can be used to introduce or reinforce the language of height while helping practitioners assess children’s understanding of comparing and ordering objects.
This pack is print and go. Our catalogue does not list an editable copy of it, so none is offered here rather than promising a file nobody has opened. Page counts are not printed either, because we do not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.
