This Gingerbread House Counting to 10 resource is a fun and engaging EYFS maths activity designed to help young children develop early counting skills, one-to-one correspondence, and understanding of cardinality. Each gingerbread house features a ten frame and a numeral, and children are encouraged to count out the correct number of sweets to match the number shown. Some houses (1–5) are pre-filled to support learners still developing early counting confidence, and partially filled ten frames offer additional challenge by prompting children to work out how many more sweets are needed to complete the total. Ideal for continuous provision, small-group teaching, or independent practice, this resource can be laminated for repeated hands-on use. It supports key EYFS curriculum goals by encouraging children to count objects, link numerals to quantities, and visually represent numbers using ten frames. The gingerbread theme adds a playful, seasonal element that helps maintain engagement while reinforcing essential number skills. Perfect for teachers, teaching assistants, and home educators, this activity strengthens early number sense and helps children build the foundations needed for future addition and subtraction using ten frames.
This pack is print and go. Our catalogue does not list an editable copy of it, so none is offered here rather than promising a file nobody has opened. Page counts are not printed either, because we do not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.
