About this resource

Big and Small Playdough Stones: make 3 with different sizes. Three landscape playdough mats, each a big pebble. Two show 3 dot spaces of different sizes to fill with playdough. The third is blank so children can make their own 3, with some big and some small. What’s included: • Teacher guide with Development Matters links. • 3 landscape playdough mats on a pebble. Ideas for using it: • Fill the spaces: Roll balls to fill each space. Big space, big ball; small space, small ball. • Is it still 3? Point to the big ball. Is it still just 1? • Make your own: On the blank pebble, make 3 with some big and some small balls. • Compare: Look at a friend’s pebble. Are the sizes the same? Is it still 3? Linked to Development Matters (three and four-year-olds): • Fast recognition of up to 3 objects, without having to count them individually (‘subitising’). • Make comparisons between objects relating to size, length, weight and capacity. • Use one-handed tools and equipment, for example, making snips in paper with scissors. • Show ‘finger numbers’ up to 5. Supplied as a ready-to-print PDF (A4 landscape). Print, laminate and reuse all year.Read more

What you get, one file

  • PDFActivity

This pack is print and go. Our catalogue does not list an editable copy of it, so none is offered here rather than promising a file nobody has opened. Page counts are not printed either, because we do not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.
