About this resource

Is Panda Right?: subitising reasoning cards. Eight cards where Panda or Tiger says how many dots they can see. The dots are different sizes. Children decide whether Panda or Tiger is right, then explain how they know. What’s included: • Teacher guide with Development Matters links. • 8 reasoning cards with Panda or Tiger and a dot card. Ideas for using it: • Thumbs up or down: Read the speech bubble. Is Panda right? Thumbs up or thumbs down. • Fix it: If Tiger is wrong, show the right number on your fingers. • Why? Ask “Why do you think Panda said that?” Was it the big dot? • Puppet play: Use panda and tiger puppets to say each number. Linked to Development Matters (three and four-year-olds): • Fast recognition of up to 3 objects, without having to count them individually (‘subitising’). • Understand ‘why’ questions, like: “Why do you think the caterpillar got so fat?”. • Make comparisons between objects relating to size, length, weight and capacity. • Show ‘finger numbers’ up to 5. Supplied as a ready-to-print PDF (A4 landscape). Print, laminate and reuse all year.Read more

What you get, one file

  • PDFActivity

This pack is print and go. Our catalogue does not list an editable copy of it, so none is offered here rather than promising a file nobody has opened. Page counts are not printed either, because we do not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.
