About this resource

Build a 3 Path: make a stepping-stone path for teddy. Twelve cut-out stepping stones with dots of different sizes, plus start and finish cards and two teddy counters. Children build a path using only the stones that show 3, then guide teddy across. What’s included: • Teacher guide with Development Matters links. • 12 cut-out stepping stones with dots of different sizes. • Start and finish cards and 2 teddy counters. Ideas for using it: • Build it: Find all the 3 stones and lay them in a path from start to finish. • Partner path: One child builds the path. A partner checks each stone and guides teddy. • Not 3 pile: Put stones that are not 3 in a separate pile. How many dots do they show? • Jumping path: Copy the stones in chalk outside and jump only on the 3s. Linked to Development Matters (three and four-year-olds): • Fast recognition of up to 3 objects, without having to count them individually (‘subitising’). • Make comparisons between objects relating to size, length, weight and capacity. • Play with one or more other children, extending and elaborating play ideas. • Skip, hop, stand on one leg and hold a pose for a game like musical statues. Supplied as a ready-to-print PDF (A4 landscape). Print, laminate and reuse all year.Read more

This pack is print and go. Our catalogue does not list an editable copy of it, so none is offered here rather than promising a file nobody has opened. Page counts are not printed either, because we do not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.
