About this resource

Panda and Tiger Spot 3: quick-look dot card game. Panda and Tiger are playing a game: who can spot 3 first? Children take turns to flip dot cards with 1, 2 or 3 dots in different sizes and patterns. They mark each 3 they spot on Panda’s or Tiger’s side of the scoring mat. What’s included: • Teacher guide with Development Matters links. • Scoring mat with write-on tally spaces for Panda and Tiger. • 16 dot cards with 1, 2 and 3 dots in different sizes. Ideas for using it: • Panda vs Tiger: Two children play as Panda and Tiger. Whoever says “3!” first makes a mark. • Whole class: Split the class into Team Panda and Team Tiger. Flash cards on the board. • Who is right? Show a card. Panda says 2, Tiger says 3. Who is right? How do you know? • Stay quiet: Children only call out when they see 3. Linked to Development Matters (three and four-year-olds): • Fast recognition of up to 3 objects, without having to count them individually (‘subitising’). • Experiment with their own symbols and marks as well as numerals. • Compare quantities using language: ‘more than’, ‘fewer than’. • Play with one or more other children, extending and elaborating play ideas. Supplied as a ready-to-print PDF (A4 landscape). Print, laminate and reuse all year.Read more

This pack is print and go. Our catalogue does not list an editable copy of it, so none is offered here rather than promising a file nobody has opened. Page counts are not printed either, because we do not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.
