About this resource

Snowman Buttons: counting playdough mats 1 to 5. Five landscape playdough mats. Each snowman needs the right number of buttons, shown as a numeral, a dot pattern and a hand of fingers. Children roll playdough buttons, count them on and check. What’s included: • Teacher guide with Development Matters links. • 5 landscape playdough mats, 1 to 5. Ideas for using it: • Roll and count: Roll buttons and place them down the snowman, counting as you go. • Match it: Point to the numeral, dots and fingers. Do they all show the same? • Fingers first: Show the number on your fingers before you start. • Real buttons: Use big buttons instead of playdough. Linked to Development Matters (three and four-year-olds): • Say one number for each item in order: 1,2,3,4,5. • Know that the last number reached when counting a small set of objects tells you how many there are in total (‘cardinal principle’). • Link numerals and amounts: for example, showing the right number of objects to match the numeral, up to 5. • Show ‘finger numbers’ up to 5. Supplied as a ready-to-print PDF (A4 landscape). Print, laminate and reuse all year.Read more

  • PDFActivity

This pack is print and go. Our catalogue does not list an editable copy of it, so none is offered here rather than promising a file nobody has opened. Page counts are not printed either, because we do not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.
