Support early problem-solving and reasoning skills with this simple and engaging Remembrance-themed EYFS picture logic puzzle. Designed for children in the Early Years Foundation Stage, this activity encourages children to look carefully at pictures, recognise patterns and use simple rules to work out which picture belongs in each space. Children are encouraged to examine each row and column and identify the missing picture. Each picture can only appear once in each row and once in each column, helping children develop their understanding of patterns, matching and logical thinking. To complete the puzzle, children need to choose the correct picture for each empty box and check their answers carefully to make sure that no picture has been repeated within a row or column. This EYFS logic puzzle provides a fun way to develop early reasoning skills while introducing a Remembrance theme. It can be used as an independent activity, during continuous provision, as part of a small-group task or as a classroom challenge. Skills supported include: Early problem-solving Logical thinking and reasoning Picture recognition and matching Pattern recognition Visual discrimination Attention to detail Checking and reviewing work Explaining thinking and choices This activity is particularly suitable for EYFS children who are confident recognising and matching pictures and are beginning to understand simple patterns, rules and logical relationships. Encourage children to explain how they worked out each answer. Can they identify the missing picture, explain their reasoning and check that each picture appears only once in every row and column? Can the children solve the puzzle and explain how they know which pictures belong in each space?
This pack is print and go. Our catalogue does not list an editable copy of it, so none is offered here rather than promising a file nobody has opened. Page counts are not printed either, because we do not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.
