Santa's elves have mixed up the presents, and every present has a secret number! In this Christmas Eve Present Detective activity, Year 1 children work out the number shown in each mystery box, write it down, then circle the present with that number. The clues use pictures rather than words: ten frames, base 10, a number track with a missing number and a simple addition. Each mystery box has the clue in a shaded panel at the top and three presents to choose from underneath, so very little reading is needed. What's included: A teacher information page with the skills covered One activity sheet with six numbered presents and four picture mysteries A full answer page Editable PowerPoint and ready-to-print PDF Skills covered: Numbers to 20 Ten frames and base 10 Counting on with a number track Simple addition Writing numerals Ideal for the last week of term, a festive maths lesson, early finishers, small group work or a Christmas Eve themed day.
This pack is listed as editable, so the editable copy comes with it. We do not print page counts here, because our catalogue does not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.
